Final Fantasy 14's Patch 7.56 is here, and the Beastmaster is the clear headliner. It's a limited job, but that hasn't stopped folks from treating Eorzea like a giant monster-catching safari. You snag creatures from all over the map—yes, even those old A Realm Reborn zones are getting some love again—then summon them in battle for combos, actions, and more catching. There's a bestiary to guide you, too.
Basically, you catch 'em all. And it's honestly a blast. I've dumped hours into Central Shroud grinding away, eyeing the Crucible and its painful roguelike-ish glory, plus that glittery Tourmaline Golem mount waiting at the end if you climb the duty's official rankings.
Turns out I'm not alone. Reddit is packed with Beastmaster love. One thread calls the job 'really fun!' The original poster says the content is great and the achievements are really cool. Another post has people saying they wish it was a standard job instead of a limited one. Yeah, I'm with them. Someone else says they've been having a blast, and a ton of replies agree.
My favorite thread, though, is a screenshot of a Warrior of Light dressed like Ash Ketchum. The caption? 'Had to use the appropriate glam.' Perfect. I also side with the replies saying 'the Pokemon vibe is honestly perfect.' I mean, what else is Beastmaster if not a big old Pokemon vibe? That's exactly why so many of us are hooked.
Not everyone's sold, obviously. Some comments mention ways Square Enix could improve the job, and there are fears it might get tossed aside and forgotten like Blue Mage. Still, spirits are high overall. Me? I can't think of much else I want from it, aside from more levels and more utility in other parts of Final Fantasy 14.
